Copyright & DMCA Policy

Coursified ("we", "us", "our") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, we will respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the requirements below.

1. Reporting alleged infringement

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe that content available through the Service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our Designated Agent (see Section 4) that includes all of the following:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail (such as the course URL) for us to locate it.
  • Your contact information — name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on their behalf.

Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for damages (including costs and attorneys' fees) if you knowingly and materially misrepresent that material is infringing.

2. Our response

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to the material in question and will make a good-faith effort to notify the user who provided it. We may also remove material proactively where we have a good-faith belief that it infringes the rights of others.

3. Counter-notification

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to our Designated Agent that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district in which you are located (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the complaining party.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

4. Designated Agent

Notices and counter-notices should be sent to our Designated Agent:

  • Email: hello@coursified.app
  • Subject line: "DMCA Notice" or "DMCA Counter-Notice" (so we can route it quickly)

5. Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, we will disable and/or terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.

6. A note for video creators

If you are the creator of a source video and want a course based on it removed — or would rather partner with us so it's published on your terms — email us at hello@coursified.app. We aim to make this quick and friendly.
